The Dinner Party is a large-scale contemporary textile art portrait based on a blurred snapshot taken during a dinner party staged around exaggerated ideas of fine dining and social performance. Working from an imperfect image allowed memory, distortion, and material interpretation to guide the final composition rather than photographic accuracy.
Constructed entirely from reclaimed textiles, the piece combines salvaged garments, discarded fabrics, and studio offcuts collected over time. Stains, wear, and previous histories remain embedded within the materials, becoming part of the surface language of the work.
